Cadence Okuwobi is a 15-year-old jazz bassist based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has been playing and studying electric and upright bass under Aaron Jacobs since she was 11. The summer of 2024 she was invited to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Summer Jazz Academy, and  the same year she became Young Arts Award recipient. Over the course of her musical career she has had opportunity to work with artists such as Endea Owens, Victor Wooten, Camille Thurman, Frank Vignola, and Andy McKee. In her spare time she runs the Beyond the Notes Workshop, a free program for serious young musicians to develop essential non-musical skills like professionalism and band leading.
